I have a new global air split system reverse cycle unit that was installed only in november 2010. i paid $600.00 to install the unit (plus parts) and the refrigerated mechanic who said he was registered didn’t have his receipt book and promised to ‘drop off’ the receipt. it never arrived.
since jan i have been chasing the installer – peter horner – to repair the unit because the gas escaped. i have since found out through the plumbing industry – that peter horner has not been insured or registered since 2009. the plumbing industry is prosecuting him for performing work un-registered etc.
however, because i do not have a compliance cert and installation receipt i cannot claim on the warranty. in any case – it appears it was an installation fault and awa said the warranty would be void anyway.
i had someone come to look at it yesterday but because the unit needs re-gassing with r22 gas he didn't have that gas. the flare on the piping/tubing needs to be repaired also as this is the reason the gas escaped.
please help!
