12y/o chef 600 oven's grill and light not working

Approx oct '97 model chef 600 electrical oven has a grill component that has recently stopped working. it is possible that something was displaced behind the control panel amidst the wiring when i was recently replacing the plastic oven-knob extension that had snapped inside, behind the control panel. also, the oven light bulb had blown. when i replaced it, it blew immediately when i tried turning it on. (no big deal, but if easy and economical enough to repair that would be good.) it would be perfect if somebody could attend this week to repair the grill, preferably on-site as opposed to taking it away.
