Diagnose and possibly repair LG front loading washing machine

Have had issues with washing machine since February. Initially washing machine wouldn't spin loads bigger than about 4 small items. Then in about May, the drum started making a grinding noise, and then stopped. Hasn't worked since. Would love it if someone could provide me with a reasonable quote to come out and diagnose and potentially fix the problem. I'm not able to afford what I have been quoted by many tradesmen (hence not having a washing machine working since May). Please help? Also have a request for a refridgerator repair (Samsung) so perhaps I could get someone to check both at once??
