Fix a Eurolec Gas oven whose computer is playing up

We have had this Eurolec oven for around 25 years. The ignition has played up in the past and we got this fixed.
We now are having problems with the computer I believe. The clock always appears to be on auto and cannot be switched from there. The oven will not go on unless we can take it off auto.
We do this by putting on the grill and it then starts to flash an we can then take it off auto.
Sometimes the oven will go off even after this happens and we go through the same process to get it back on. The oven then will work.
