Dish-washing machine remained on 'pumping water out' phase/mode continuously. Turning machine's power switch off had no effect with pump continuing to pump, nor did pressing any of the different front face buttons that control Stop/start or cycle types. Turning off at the mains was the only way to turn machine off. I poured water into pump-well which in turn was effectively pumped out so no damage seems to have been caused by pumps continuous operation.
