GHD Hair Straightener connection fault.

I am having problems with my hair straightener.When using my GHD hair Straightener the cord is not sitting in the correct position, if i don't hold the cord a certain way the GHD straightener turns itself off. The connection from the cord to the straightener needs to be either repaired or replaced. GHD show on line how to replace it-but the parts are in UK that they use. They suggest it can be easily fixed with an AUS similar fitting.
