I have a 50inch Flatron plasma a few years old I got from work. It was working when I plugged it in at work, I took it home plugged it in and it worked. I turned it off and then later in the day I plugged it in and turned it on, it made a crackle type sound and then nothing, no standby light even. It is an awesome TV i think it may have been commercial TV as it weighs a tonne and has no built in speakers. i was thinking it may be a fuse but unsure.
