Malfunctioning wall projector clock - auto off not working

I have a wall projector clock that has an 'auto' function ie. is supposed to switch off/on via a hand clap or similar sound/vibration but this has recently stopped working and it is now permanently on in 'auto' mode. Can this be repaired?
