Selim contacted me very quickly - within an hour of posting the job on service central. He arranged to come and replair the oven on the following business day, on the provision that he was able to find an appropriate part. He then called several hours before he was due to arrive and let us know that after phoning around he had been unable to find an appropriate part, so wouldn't be able to fix the oven. So now we know our oven can't be fixed, but at least we didn't need to pay for him to come and tell us that.
