I was given a verbal quote over the phone estimating the cost of the oven seal, the call out fee and the labour fee. I verified the numbers three times and once I was told that the numbers were correct I proceeded to go ahead with the repair. I was told that it would be a wait of 5-10 business days for the part to arrive which was incorrect. I waited for more than three weeks for the part to arrive and when it did it was the wrong part. I had to wait another week for the correct part to turn up and to organise for someone to come and fit it. The bill arrived shortly after the repair was carried out, it was over $100 more expensive than I had budgeted for. I rang the company and discovered that the numbers I had been given over the phone were complete rubbish. The call out fee was much more than quoted, the labour fee was incorrect and the only thing that was correct was the oven part cost. The company did reduce the cost of the bill after a phone call however the cost of the repair still came out to be the most expensive when compared to the other two companies that had quoted for the repair. Lesson learnt: 1. Make sure that the quote received is written down by the company, no verbal quotes over the phone.
