Dishwasher is 5 years old but virtually unused. Neither drawer working. Fault unknown but remedy by cleaning and clearing pipes has been attempted without success. Work can commence any time but must be complete by 14th Jan.

Provider quoted fixed callout charge which was fine, no labour charge. However, they sold us parts that were not needed at rip off prices. I could have replaced the dishwasher for less than the cost of the service. They tried to sell us two parts. Fortunately we only bought one and proved on the spot that the other $196 part wasn\'t needed (the serviceman said he wasn\'t permitted to try to fix the part which was easy to repair). We did replace the other part on advice that it couldn\'t be fixed, but later found that it too was easy to repair. The serviceman was a nice guy and tried to be helpful but said he was bound by \'company policy\'. I wouldn\'t use them again. Nor would I buy or recommend a Fisher Paykel dishwasher. It was very expensive and the parts in it are garbage! After receipt of feedback, company contacted me to offer free inspection of the repairs and full refund for any part not needed. After considering their advice re the part, we decided to leave the new part in as we considered that although the old part (repaired) worked fine, it was likely to break down again soon and was causing high noise levels. I am still of the view that the part was overpriced, but that may be Fisher Paykel's fault rather than the service company. I have to say the prompt response and offer of refund restored my faith in 24hr Appliciance Repairs. That was impressive!
