Repair my York t200+ Anniversary treadmill

After a 35 min run on the treadmill, it suddenly made a cranking sound and stopped working. The running mat still rolls but at speeds that don't match the set speed and will stop rolling if i get on the mat. I have cleaned under the panel but it still doesn't work. I am wary of the costs of repairing this (given I bought the treadmill for $250 2nd hand!).
