Repair of simpson oven, oven & grill not heating

Fan and light seems to still work, but oven and grill are not heating up at all. even when the oven did work, the thermostat appeared to gauge a lower temperature than the actual temperature.
i'm not sure if it was a co-incidence, but this problem started at the same time as a the power was shorted out in the kitchen, causing the clipsal switch to flick and prevent power to the whole house. we have switched off the offending power point, but the oven still is not working, despite all power being returned to every other switch in the kitchen.
