Smeg oven requires new knob

I have a 5-8 year old free standing smeg oven 900mm with gas cooktop.
there appears to be a problem with the switch that selects the oven settings, i can only get one setting to works and even then it requires a far bit of "jiggling" abound to get it to select the right setting.
my guess is the switch is stuffed and requires a new one. it is stainless steel.
