Spin cycle on our Samsung 7kg J845 washing machine has stopped working

Our Samsung washing machine works fine until it comes to the spin cycle. It just sits still and will not spin (makes a faint grinding noise). Then it stops and sends out an error message. Additional to this the front door locking latch is broken and needs replacing. Is this worth fixing or should I just get a new machine?
