Whirlpool AWM 5080 front loader stops functioning after fill cycle

Graham requested 2 quotes from Appliance Repairmen in Elizabeth Bay

When machine first broke down it was during the first spin cycle (program B). Subsequently when setting any wash program to run, the machine will advance the timer one step, make a couple of clicky whirry noises, wait a while, run the pump and then stop.

Following the fault diagnosis procedure in the service manual, it gets to step 5 where it stops after turning the timer to 9 and pumps out the water. The first 4 steps of the procedure work fine.

Responded quickly initially but then never seemed liked my job was a priority. Took nearly a week before finally finding a time to fit us in, and then arrived with less than 20 minutes to complete the job despite being told several times what time we needed to go out. Despite detailed information about the problem in the job listing and extra information explained over the phone still didn't seemed to have an understanding of what the problem might be when he arrived. Most likely could have saved all the time and effort and told us over the phone that it likely would be uneconomical to fix.
