Whirlpool electric oven not heating up

Turned on as usual to heat up, 10 minutes later there was a pop sound and smoke came out from the oven, tripped the fuse. Left it alone for 10 minutes, switched the fuse back on, turned the oven on again, fan works but does not heat up.
Now, trying to turn the temperature dial seems very tight.
