10 of the World's Wackiest Furniture Designs

Have a space in your home that needs some livening up? Check out these 10 wacky designs for furniture that is sure to start conversations. Not necessarily good conversations, though…

1. Lip Shaped Lounge

Salvador Dali fan? Want to inject some whacky fun into your lounge? Then these lip-shaped lounges are for you. Designed by Dali and Oscar Tusquets in the '70s and manufactured by Bocca, the Lips Shaped Sofa is available in various colors like fuchsia pink and black. Place some puckered lips in your penthouse…

2. Sitscape Lounge

The Sitscape Sofas is perfect for long halls and big lounge rooms. At approximately six meters long it's not for small spaces, but it allow you to sit in many different postures. It's designed to be the ultimate sitting station in your home and it's hard to argue with that.

3. Guitar Coffee Table

Rockers will appreciate the Guitar Coffee Table - a silhouette of that most infamous instrument. I propose a custom design that fits the owner's guitar perfectly. Then it can double as a storage shelf when the band isn't playing.

4. -Toilet- Scrubbing Brush Lounge

Sure, it looks like something you'd use to scrub last night's curry off the porcelain toilet bowl. But the Scrubbing Brush Lounge is surprisingly comfortable and luxurious. When you sit or lay on the sofa each supportive 'bristles' will give you a relaxing rub and soothe your tired muscles.

5. Behind the Wall Lounge

At first glance you might not realize what you're supposed to do with this 'sofa'. That's because the Behind the Wall Lounge serves two purposes. It can be used as an elegant room divider, or, take the plunge and plop yourself into its stretchy fabric and you'll quickly realize it's also a comfortable lounge. The bonus is you can sit on it from either side!

6. Swimming Pool Sofa

Beware of this sofa if you're not a competent swimmer! Just kidding, of course. Despite what it looks like, this is not actually a pool/couch hybrid. Though it is an effective illusion! Unfortunately it's just a concept sofa design which was made for Piscine Castiglione, a swimming pool design firm.

7. Coffin Lounge

All of the macabre folk out there just pricked up their ears. And it gets so much more gothic. These coffin lounges aren't just a replica. They're actual, recycled coffins. Yes. Recycled. Despite health laws in California preventing the resale of used coffins (for obvious reasons), an enterprising funeral parlor upcycled (?) the used coffins as very expensive ($5000 a piece) lounges.

8. Sila Yogi Sofa

Even a yogi's gotta relax, right? The very clever Sila sofa designed by Eridani Saleh allows even the most devout yogi to sit in Sila (cross-legged) pose in blissful comfort.

9. Piano Fold-Down Bed

Unfortunatley this piano is a little out of tune. That's because, instead of string and hammers, there's a fold down bed inside this baby upright! The perfect bed for the music lover in your life.

10. Chev Lounge

Pop art and car fanatics will love this unusual lounge. Stick Grease on the TV and let the good times… roll.
