Ever wondered what ant cities are like? Turns out their massive, intricate and look like they've been designed by a crazy, genius architect.
This scientist discovers a near-abandoned ant colony and decides to perform an experiment. He starts pouring cement down the entrance hole. Tonnes and tonnes of cement and days later, he finally is able to stop pouring.
Weeks later, when the cement has set, he starts to dig.
This video shows just what he discovers. An ant megalopolis to rival the largest of human cities. The work gone into building it is the equivalent of the construction of the Great Wall of China.
It's immense, and I would never have believed an ant city to be so complex.
Watch the video below and see if for yourself. Skip to the 3 minute mark if you aren't interested in the documentary at the beginning.
What happened to the ants? Is man so arrogant he can destroy an entire city, just to see? I am ashamed of them.

Hi Connie, as I mentioned in the description for the video, this colony was actually abandoned. Various factors can influence the population of a colony. Imagine this video as someone discovering a long abandoned city, such as the ruins at Pompeii from the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius.
