Arranging installation of ceiling insulation to take advantage of government rebates

To arrange the installation of your ceiling insulation and take advantage of government rebates, simply:

  • Make sure you have read the program guidelines to ensure you are eligible for the rebate
  • Obtain free quotes from qualified and registered insulation installers through Service Central
  • Choose an installer to perform the work based on the quotes you have received

On the day of your installation:

  • If you are satisfied with the work, complete and sign the appropriate sections of the work order form (your installer will provide this)
  • The installer takes care of the rebate and claims it on your behalf, however if the cost of your insulation exceeds the amount covered by the rebate (up to $1,600 for householders and up to $1,000 for rental and other properties including holiday homes) you are responsible for paying the difference

After the installation:

  • Keep a copy of the quote, tax invoice and the completed work order form you recive from the installer for five years for Australian Government audit purposes
  • Enjoy the increased comfort of your newly insulated house and save money on heating and cooling costs

Note: You may also be entitled to state or territory government rebates. The installer will help you apply for these rebates, however you are not entitled to receive rebates in excess of the total cost of your ceiling insulation installation.
