So what is a double rainbow? A double rainbow is a phenomenon by which two rainbows occur, one outside of the other. It is caused by a double reflection of sunlight inside the raindrops and therefore the outer bow has its colours reversed to the inner bow - they reflect each other. Learn more about double rainbows.
