Or maybe you'd just care to rent it for a little while? Palazzo Orsini, a renaissance palace on top of an ancient roman theatre, has found its way onto the market. And with a pricetag of $39 million it could be the most expensive property in Rome.
It's not every day you get the opportunity to buy a palace built on a mini-colloseum in central Rome. However it's not every one that has a spare $39 million to buy it, either. So if you'd prefer, you could have a go renting it - the property is listed for rent online, although there have been bookings as yet.
However by today's standards the property might not be so attractive, after all it features just three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is a ballroom, library, terrace, cellars, separate penthouses and frescoed state rooms, though, so potentially that makes up for the difference.
Being sold by the family of Dame Iris Origo, an Anglo-American aristocrat and author, the property was used to shelter escaped prisoners of war and Allied airmen during the war.
