Getting Sales through reading Body Language

This is an excellent video by Chris Helden about body language. It will help you to get new clients, make sales and improve your communication skills in general.

Communication can be divided into three parts: What we say, how we say it (tone) and the body language that accompanies it. Interestingly enough, however, these aren't evenly weighted. Our words only make up 7% of what we're saying. 38% is tone and the final 55% is all body language.

So why is it then that we don't spend more time learning to understand body language? A person's body is contributing to more than half the conversation!

Chris walks us through some different different postures and gestures and explains how some can indicate interest while others show a lack of interest and are more defensive. He then goes on to talk about how, once you recognise that a person's body language has turned defensive, you can go about bringing that person back to your side and interested again.

It's a fascinating video and well worth the watch.
