Here’s a house with a history. Built in 1928 by architect Wallace Frost, this rustic stone villa sits in the gorgeous coastal micro-climate of Montecito, California. By the time designer John Saladino acquired the property in 2001, it had fallen into disrepair and was in need of some major regeneration. Luckily Saladino developed a real passion for the home and spent four years restoring it to its former glory and adding a few things along the way.
In 2009 he recounted his experience falling in love with the 930m2 property in his book Villa. Since 2010, however, it’s been on the market for $24.5 million - and now it’s been snapped up by adored Hollywood duo Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi! Featuring over 14,000 Italian tiles, the home has six bedrooms, six bathrooms and 13 acres of beautiful grounds. Have a look and you’ll fall in love too. Sure, the rumour mill is churning away with stories of the couple's’ separation - wonder who’s going to keep the house?
