With winter just around the corner we're all trying to find ways to warm up the house and for most of us the heater is the first thing we turn on. However did you know that if your heater hasn't been serviced recently it could be a risk in your home?
Two years ago two Victorian boys, aged seven and nine, unfortunately died when a faulty heater leaked poisonous carbon monoxide into their home. Their mother had to be hospitalised and it was a terrible reminder that gas heaters require regular servicing.

Why does every article centre around heaters and the 2 little boys that died. My daughter died this way in 2003 from a 'gas hot water unit'. There are still thousands of these instant hot water units out there in older homes and because no one mentions them (only heaters) that people are probably not getting them checked. Please spread the word that gas instant hot water units that are installed 'inside' the home also need to be checked. Don't let my daughter's death count for nothing!
