Sir John Monash

Known today as the namesake for the Monash University, Monash Freeway, Monash City Council and Monash Medical Centre, the history of Sir John Monash is quite remarkable.
Born in West Melbourne in 1865 to Jewish parents, Monash was very well educated graduating with a Doctor of Engineering in 1921. His engineering expertise was put to great service over the years. He played a major role in introducing reinforced concrete to Australia. However, it was his military service that helped create his legend.
