What elements should you consider when designing your own website?
Here are some thoughts and tips on what you might like to consider when creating a new website of your own:
- Mobile First. More than half of people browsing on the internet are now using their smartphones (iPhones and Android phones) to look at websites. Therefore, its really important that your website looks (and works) great on a mobile phone.
- Responsive Design. Very much related to the first point, the best modern websites are "responsive" meaning that they automatically resize to the screen that each person looking at your website is using (i.e. it looks great on phones, tablets, ipads, laptops and desktop computers).
- It demonstrates trust. People won't interact with your business if they don't trust you. Therefore, you need to find the best ways to demonstrate why people should trust you on your website. In our case we do that with the "Service Central Certified" logo, Testimonials, and the logos of all of Service Central's partners.
- It is clear what you do.
- It is clear what a consumer needs to do (i.e. Fill in a form, call you, etc).
- There is great content. The more blogs and articles you can create the better (Service Central has over 3,500 articles on our website).
- It is optimised for Google Search. The more traffic you can draw in from Google, the more customers you will win.
