Learn how Service Central's brand new Post Your Job form now makes it super easy and so much faster to post your job today!
The Service Central team have combined the learnings of our first 5 years in business with the experience of managing over 200,000 job requests to create a new Post Your Job form that simplifies the process of connecting consumers with quality businesses. The new form is intelligent in design and intuitive in nature. The form now has built in intelligence that understands the services that are being asked for and only asks you questions relevant to that specific service. This eliminates unnecessary questions, saves you time and cuts down on duplicated information.
Less irrelevant questions
The new form's design builds up a list of relevant questions as you go. The minute that it knows exactly which service a consumer is asking for it presents relevant questions for that service, and eliminates all unnecessary questions. In many ways the success of this form lies in the questions that it doesn't ask. No longer are you asked whether a "home cleaning" job is "commercial or domestic", it is now automatically implied that it would be an domestic job. Similarly, you can no longer specify that a home cleaning job would cost $100,000+, which of course it never could have.
Not sure about the budget?
A great win is the 'Not sure' option on the price range. Consumers have been asking for this feature for years, and it has proven a very difficult concept to introduce. The difficulty lies in identifying the appropriate businesses to match to a job. Obviously you do not want to send a large building company to a small job, and neither do you wish to send a single handyman out to build a brand new home. The new Post Your Job form has built in the intelligence to identify the relevant businesses without the need to ask for a specific price range.
Auto save and complete the form later
Also with the new form you no longer have to worry about losing your job details again. The form self-saves, meaning that you can navigate away from the form and when you come back all of the information that you had entered will still be there.
Preview your job before posting it
The biggest win, however, is that you can now Preview your job. Now you can see exactly what your job is going to look like when its published on the Jobs Board and well as seeing exactly what information is going to be SMS'd out to the quality local businesses that match. You decide what information is displayed and how it is presented.
Congrats to the team
As you can imagine, building such an intelligent form has been a major project for the IT team and they've done a great job. That said, we would love to make it even better and would like your help. Take a close look at the new Post Your Job form and let us know how it works for you? Does it work? Does it look good on your computer? Does it ask the right questions? Any information or insights that you can email through to us on enquiries@servicecentral.com.au or leave as a comment below would be greatly appreciated.

The Service Central Team
I like the new form, very pretty. But every time I post a job I feel like I'm not putting enough info in - usually because I don't know what I want. I suppose it's easier with things like installing stoves but when I need some landscaping done but have lots of different options am I supposed to put everything I'm thinking about into the job? Or should I just ask for someone who's flexible?

Thanks for the comment. We know it's sometimes a bit hard but the general recommendation we have is that if you just imagine what the landscaper will ask you when he calls, that information is enough. It's often a good idea to include all the options as well - even if you're not sure, because this will at least give the company an idea of how extensive their services need to be.
Also, when it's very important to have certain questions answered, we'll prompt you to answer these questions in the form.
Thanks Tracy!
