Worksafe Victoria recently conducted a social experiment to see whether Melbournians would be so agreeable that they would pass a live wire to a worker in the street. They were shocked with the results.
Imagine walking down Bourke Street in the city and a construction worker hands you a live wire, and asks you to pass it to his mate. Would you do it?
What if his mate drops to the ground with electric shock? How would you react? Would you go ahead and pick it up again? Would you give it to the guy again and shock him once again?
Amazingly of the 70 people that took part in this social experiment, 63 of them went ahead and passed the live wire. That is a whopping 90% of participants that ignored the risks associated with a live electrical wire.
Worksafe Victoria used this video to highlight to employers just how likely people are to do whatever they are asked. They point out that given the risk, just don't ask people to do dangerous things.
The live wire demonstration show us that we should be using serious 240 volts to thin down the gene pool so we don't have so many idiots walking around.

Try working where I work. initially I wasn't paid, then I was underpaid for months despite informing my employer. The insurance company initially refused to accept the claim. In 21/2 months off I didn't even get a phone call to say how are you?

I had surgery. When I wrote a letter of complaint I was verbally abused and basically called a liar, etc, etc. The treatment I received from the employer and the insurance company was worse than the injury and surgery.
