Here are a few things to consider when choosing colours to paint your home with:

  3. Create a scrapbook of your favourite ideas and colour schemes.
  4. Before starting to paint the outside of your home it may be worth checking with council whether there are any regulations or restrictions on paint colours you can use. This is particularly the case in heritage zones.
  5. Take into consideration the mood that you wish to create. Do you want the room to have an intimate feeling and go for darker colours, or do you wish to choose ligher colours to brighten up the room?
  6. Take into consideration what furniture and soft furnishings you're going to be using in the room.
  7. If you want the room to feel bigger then you should choose lighter colours. Beware that darker colours will make the room feel smaller.
