You need to also consider the climate where you live – for example, a dry, hot garden exposed to lots of sunlight may not be the best place for large, leafy ferns. Usually you can find a huge variety of plants that will thrive in your garden, as well as being able to design the garden to perhaps take advantage of that shady corner.
