Power tools - what would we do without them?

So many jobs are made easier with the power tool. We can't think of any tool that has an electric version that's actually better without the electrics!

So the first amazing iteration of power tools were run off mains electrics through cables. As it turns out, the electric drill was invested by an Australian - Mr Arthur James Arnot, in 1889, in Melbourne. There's a huge range of electric tools - drills, screwdrivers, sanders, chisels and more.

Powered tools were a lot less useful when they needed cords and cables, but nowadays many tools are cordless. Plus, they're even more usable because they're ergonomically designed and less likely to cause vibration white finger.

So what power tools do you use - whether you're DIY-ing or working as a professional?
