The Victorian Climate Change White Paper released last month included many plans for reducing the impact of climate change - summarised for you here. One of the items included in that white paper was that the Victorian Government wanted to provide a central, authoritative source of knowledge about climate change and sustainability. They've done this with the launch of the Climate Communities website.
The website has a lot of information, but one of the most relevant parts of the website is a central list of the available training for tradespeople to become accredited 'green' tradies. Of course, this only applies to training in Victoria, but it's interesting to know that there is in fact 'green' training for lots of different types of trades - painters, carpenters, plumbers and electricians, solar and HVAC (heating, ventilation and airconditioning systems).
For tradespeople and non-tradespeople alike, there are courses to become a Home Sustainability Assessorand implementing environmentally sustainable practices at work (great for small businesses).
