First up, unless you're a really handy DIY-er, you might find that you need an experienced carpenter or even a builder to ensure that the structure is sound. There are some pre-purchased ready-made tree houses available at hardware stores too. Then choose your tree, make sure it's healthy, and plan appropriately. If you're building a structure with children in mind, of course safety will be at the forefront of your planning. You might need to apply for planning permission so check with the council.
