Wheelchair Backflips

It's clear that to this boy, his wheelchair is simply an extension of his body. Watch in awe as he scoots around a BMX course, does a backflip and dances - all on his wheels.

Ok, so the first 20 seconds or so had me cringing, worried for the 'poor boy on the wheelchair', (it doesn't help that the video starts with him having a few crashes) but after that 20 second mark my jaw just about dropped in amazement.

Thanks Danial for sharing this pretty incredible video.

Aaron 'Wheelz' Fotheringham (now 19 - he was just 14 in the video below) has spina bifida, but he doesn't let that stop him. Encouraged by his elder brother, who was keen on BMX bike riding, he decided to see if he could get his wheelchair to do the same stunts a BMX bike could.

He says the first time was scary, and he fell, but he wasn't about to give up that easily. From there he went from strength to strength and in 2006 the video below was filmed, featuring him performing the first ever back flip on a wheelchair.

When the below video went viral on youtube, Aaron's life changed forever. Travelling interstate and even internationally, Aaron has mentored and coached disabled children, been featured in magazines and even been on television.

Aaron's philosophy is that a wheelchair doesn't have to be a restriction and he uses that philosophy to inspire everyone to achieve all that they can - whatever their situation.

Watch the video that skyrocketed Aaron's career and changed his life forever:
