This tends to depend on how you draw yourfeed-in tariffs. If you take them as credits against your electricity account then no, this will not affect your benefits.
However if you are receiving the feed-in tariffs as cash, cheque or direct deposit into your account, then yes it can.
This doesn’t have any affect on pensions, but will affect all other Social Security income support payments like NewStart. It’s not really clear how this tariff payment affects other benefits, so if you’re in doubt then you need to talk to your benefit advisor.
Is income from solar incentives taxable? Find out here.
According to the Centrelink website regarding the income test for pensioners, an individual can earn up to $142 per fortnight, and a couple can earn up to $248 per fortnight. Given this, it seems that you can earn quite a bit of money out of your solar rebates before it would have an effect on your benefits.
