Build carport with tiled roof /brick piers to front of house

We have an existing single carport at the side of the house leading to the side door.We want a single tiled carport to be in front of this so as to give the house a better frontage and I would like some ideas on how to modernise the house front. It is an older style 3 room frontage with hallway.I had extensions done 6 years ago and should have had this incorporated then. The high brick side fence will have to be replaced perhaps with a parapet wall for the garage.
