Knock down an internal wall and a sleepout-enclosed exterior wall

I would like to knock down part of an internal wall (between lounge and kitchen) and part of the back wall of the house (between add-on enclosed sleepout and kitchen). The walls to be removed would be 2.4m and 4.4m, respectively. Additionally, I would like to move some doorways. I am also keen to build a deck and patio attached to the front of the house. I am able to source many of the materials myself and would be interested in doing as much of the labour myself as possible. I would be looking at a quote for the essential jobs by a qualified builder, and approximate costs. I would like to know whether council approval is required for internal changes to the house - I can get on to this asap if this is required. The property is a brick and tile, 1960's (I think) house with floorboards and high ceilings. I have not had someone inspect whether the walls are load bearing etc, and understand that this needs to occur but I wonder if this is something you can also do.
