I own a single fronted terrace house in richmond.
at the rear of the house the block is split down the middle, with half being the kitchen and the other half the courtyard. the door to the courtyard are double french doors.
what i would like to do is move the french doors "back" into the courtyard by about 8 feet - making the loung area the full width of the block for this additional space.
