New garage build, removal of existing garage

We want to knock down our existing single car garage which contains asbestos and will need proper removal. Currently it is brick faced only (cement sheeting walls I think) and we would like to retain the brick facing look from the front, but are open to suggestions for the rest of the garage materials. Current garage has concrete slab.
Looking to build a single car garage but with some space for storage as well The current garage is about 1.2m from boundary but we would like to move it closer to the boundary if possible. Electric roller door preferred. Would like some sort of windows to allow natural light in.
Will need advice on required permits etc.
