Structural wall removed and beam installed

Alysha requested 0 quotes from Builders in Hadfield

I have a unit built in the 1960s. It has a pitched tile roof and the exterior is brick.

It has an internal load bearing wall separating the kitchen and living room that I want removed. It is approx 375cm long. It is plasterboard (or something similar), not brick. I'm happy for the beam to be visible rather than hidden in the roof cavity.

I want the job done in a couple of months' time (as I'm currently in the middle of a bathroom reno and want to finish that 1st). However, I am looking to obtain quotes now and get all the necessary paperwork in order i.e. I'll need to apply for a building permit from Moreland City Council and get permission from the owners' corporation before I can go ahead.

I have obtained some of the original plans for the property from the council.
