got most of the job done but at a slow pace (contracted at hourly rate) and a few errors that needed to be rectified. Also harrasses if invoice not paid within 24 hours, threatens to vandalise property when payment not made within 4 days.. AVOID Updated response: Yes some joists (not quite 30 though) were too long thanks to the manufacturers error but as you were paid by the hour I dont know why you would complain about that it cost me money not you and you were asked if you wanted to do it or we get the manufacturer to. The beam was also to short and had to be remade by the manufacturer not xhp so I dont see why felt the need to mention that. I dont recall this 24hours payment agreement, it certainly wasnt in the email you sent me with the invoice nor was it in the invoice itself, maybe if it was so urgent you should have been more clear about it, most payment terms are min 7 days I made the deposit within that time and never disputed the amount as I wanted little more to do with you. stair well wasnt wrong size,, there was no stair well just an area where the walls needed to be fabricated so I dont know what you are talking about 'asking you to build another one' are you implying you didnt want to do the work? Although appreciated, the trip you made to mercantile cres less than 500m from your home (as the crow flies) doesnt seem very out of the way and you volunteered to pick it up once you heard how close it was to you. If I knew you were going to complain about it I would have stayed with the original plan of the steel co dropping it off. the previous inaccuracies in your story i can maybe put down as miscommunication or misinterpretation despite your obvious attempt to tell the story out of context but this is where you just start lying Phillip. You didnt show me how to lay the hebel you had as much experience with the stuff as I had I even gave you a book on how it should be laid and it became obvious I had read that book more thoroughly than you had. i arrived 2 hours after you started expecting a few panels down, all that was down was one panel and it hadnt even been screwed in yet, 2 hours to lay one panel is about 110 mins too long. I most certainly didnt say that I know how to lay the hebel as you had showed me because it was evident you had no previous experience with the stuff. I informed you early in the job that I originally intended to have someone else do the work but they werent available as soon as you which is why I (regrettably) allowed you to do the joists I also informed you that I will have the other chippie finish the job. you say "We only asked to be paid for the work we had done" implying I am denying you this but as I stated in the many phone calls the deposit had been made with your apparent urgency for payment one would think you would issue me the invoice on friday just like the previous week but instead I received it monday and the deposit was made shortly afterwards. Despite my displeasure with the job I thought we ended things amicably until I get harrassing phone calls from you and your employee Junior demanding payment even after informing you it had been paid. I will clarify that it was Junior, phillips employee who made the threats not phillip but it did seem apparent he was the one in urgent need of the money and phil gave him my number to chase me for it. You are responsible for paying your employee's phil not me if he needs payment urgently you sort him out dont send him to threaten me. VERY unprofessional. I will clarify for those reading this that i received invoice on monday (which didnt state payment terms) deposit was made the following tues maybe wed and threats occured on the following thursday, all this because they hadnt received the deposit within 4 days, ridiculous.
