we have a mid 60s B/V cottage - site cut roof frame. We have some separation between wall and cornice in two areas which an insurance consultant advised was a result of insufficient roof collar ties over the affected areas allowing the roof weight to cause the wall frames to spread. He advised the wall could be pulled back using a "come along" and secured to prevent further movement.
