Hi, we are looking at adding a deck with a pergola roof, off the second story at the rear of our property. Hi, we are looking at adding a deck with a pergola roof, off the second story at the rear of our property. We have some architect drawings and have engaged a private certifier to submit a complying development application. There is also structural engineering plans being prepared so we just need to find someone to build. The land for where the deck will be built is flat with good access through the garage and we already have an 11m2 tiled patio/balcony off the house, with stairs down to the ground level. The plan is to keep the existing stairs and build the new part of the deck off the existing patio/balcony. The dimensions for the new build part are 5000 long and 4050 wide so 20.25m2, with the decking boards to extend over the existing tiled patio balcony along with the new pergola roof structure. We are looking at using treated pine for the structure, 90mm Merbau decking boards, black metal pool fencing for the balustrading with Merbau on top of the flat top balustrading for the handrail. For the patio we were looking at Colorbond roofing, possibly Stratco Cooldeck depending on overall costs with a couple of clear or tinted Laserlite inserts to work as sky lighting. I am happy to be quoted for a full supply and install cost or labour only cost where I supply the materials. The certification of complying development will require you to be licensed. If you could send me a rough idea of what we would be looking at cost wise and organise a formal quote that would be much appreciated.
