**urgent** re-secure a load baring wall

I am currently renovating my kitchen. my cabinet maker is removing part of a wall and believes that it is bearing some weight. i would like to confirm and if so, urgently re-secure the load on the roof. we have had a look in the roof area and it looks as thought there are two planks of wood coming from the roof that may be required to be secure. i urgently need this to be done. access is available to the house anytime and easy access to the roof required to have the work done.
