There are four downpipes at our property. Following some damage to perimeter paving i.e. sunken concrete and large cracks in expansion joins it was noted that the downpipes were leaking a minuscule amount of water. These downpipes were immediately replaced following this, however this water seeping gradually and potentially over a lengthy period of time has caused damage in next to the downpipes of in very close vicinity to the downpipes. Further investigation also detected some underground stormwater issues which certainly exacerbated this problem and was an additional contributing factor. These too have been since addressed. I require a report which indicates that leaks from the downpipes and the underground stormwater issues can have a detrimental effect on the perimeter paving to the property. I have Leak Detection Reports and we have also recently conducted works with Mainmark who also were of the belief that even a minuscule leak can have a detrimental effect on adjacent structures including the perimeter paving. All that is required is a report that indicates this, and corroborates Mainmark's as well as CSIRO'S Publication: "Foundation Maintenance and Footing Performance".
