  Demolition Requirements

Demolition Provider will:
• Demolition Provider to be a registered
• Demolition Provider MUST have at a minimum public liability insurance policy for $1,000,000 (AUD) and provide a copy to both the Property Owner and Council and ensure that the policy will not expire during the demolition period (estimated to be January 13th-16th, 2020)
• Engaged a Building Surveyor at own cost and provide a Building Surveyor Number to both the Property Owner and Council.
• Raise and obtain necessary applications, permits, schedule of works and approvals from Whitehorse City Council (prior to September 27th, 2019) at own cost
• Install temporary fencing with a sight limiting sheets on any boundaries that are currently enforced by buildings to be demolished (post demolishment). These fences are not to be removed until the owner has advised.
• Demolition of all man-made structures on the site, except for boundary fencing
• Removal of paths and paving
• Removal of driveways
• Removal of trees (less than 5m high and 1m trunk)
• Will protect the water meter and any pipes at the front of the properry during demolition (if the Demolition company requires the property Owner to indicate where this is, please provide details to the email address listed below)
• Level and track roll
• Provide an Asbestos Clearance Certificate (it is currently estimated that the property has 100m of asbestos sheeting (eaves, internal roof, garage roof)
• Provide a Certificate of Final Inspection
• Confirmation of readiness for demolition with a 4 week notice period from the Property Owner (estimated to be January 13th-16th, 2020)


Property Owner will:
• Organise and execute abolishment of all utility services to the house
• Organise and execute sewer and stormwater drains are removed back to the tie locations/legal point of discharge and capped
• The water mains will be turned off at the front of the property (not disconnected)
• Obtain an Asset Protection Permit from Whitehorse City Council
• Take photos, as records, of any trees in front and rear yards of the property
