I would like to renovate the kitchen and if this breast was removed - it would double the space and make the kitchen very modern. Although I recognise its importance back in the day - today it is monolithic and I would like it removed. It is likely because the apartment is 100 plus years old you will need a structural engineer to approve and take a look, plus remove upstairs chimney and chimney stack for safety.
