I require some assistance to provide a report to my insurance company. My rental property had a severe water leak, which resulted in having all the flooring and floorboards being stripped back.... I require some assistance to provide a report to my insurance company. My rental property had a severe water leak, which resulted in having all the flooring and floorboards being stripped back. There was also a ducted heater vent in the kitchen. When I open the vent I can notice that there is rust inside this vent, which to me is an indicator that water has entered this. What I am extremely concerned about is if the water has turned into mould in the actual ductwork. Mould was present on the floorboards which have since been removed, hence I know that mould whether it is active or not, is prone to spreading to other parts in the affected room.
