Fan in laundry ceiling (skillion) doesnt extract steam effectively, inst new fan

Currently have combined light/exhaust fan in ceiling of laundry. fan vents up through a skillion roof and out via a small chinama's hat vent (not into ceiling space), but doesn't effectively remove steam which has lead to a mouldy ceiling. need someone to assess options and perform installation. i suspect that it requires a more powerful fan, or perhaps a greater vent shaft through the skillion roof.
